Pessimism is a negative mental attitude in which an undesirable outcome is anticipated from a given situation. Pessimists tend to focus on the negatives of life in general.Pessimists get a lot of flak for their inclination toward negativity and their tendency to expect the worst in most situations.Besides taking a toll on their mental health, their physical health may take a beating, too. Pessimism, while it may be useful in isolation or in moderation, is associated with Anxiety, Depression, Sleep Disorders, High blood pressure, and heart diseases.

As the idea of Positive psycology has increased in the population and so much has been written about the ways in which maintaining a positive, hopeful outlook can improve mental and physical health. However, research about the effects of pessimism on physical health is somewhat contradictory! The tendency to anticipate negative outcomes may lead people to take more precautions, which may in turn lead to improved health.
As mentioned above Pessimism has been linked to mental health issues such as anxiety, Stress, and depression. Some research links pessimism to a lower immunity Also. An increased Pessimistic Approach in adults may risk up the suicidal tendencies in them.A person who consistently anticipates negative outcomes may be more likely to feel worried, but a pessimistic outlook does not necessarily lead to the increase in mental health concerns. In fact, a concept known as Defensive Pessimism explains how pessimism can be a good thing. People who are defensively pessimistic consider what might go wrong in order to explore their potential reactions to the negative situations.They may be more prepared to deal with difficult emotions than those who do not tend to take into consideration a possible negative outcome.
So,
Pessimism may be a risk factor for a numerous physical and mental diseases and, but optimism would not necessarily prevent you from becoming ill. Rather than constantly aiming for a bright smile and cherish life,the goal should be moderate optimism with a daily dose of pessimism.

On the other side speaking about OPTIMISM meaning, a mental attitude or thinking reflecting a belief and hope that the outcome of some specific endeavor or outcomes in general, will be positive, favorable, and desirable. Over Pessimism Oftimistic approach has certain mental and physical health advantages. 1. Superior Health
Studies regularly show that optimists are more likely to maintain better physical health than pessimists including a 50% lower risk of cardiovascular (Heart) diseases and greater survival rates. Some studies have also linked a pessimism with higher rates of poor health, and earlier mortality.
2.Greater Achievement
It has been studied that the optimists create a postive synergy while working with each other, resulting in the incresed rates of their success over pessimists
Psychologist Martin Seligman, the founding father of positive psychology, analyzed sports teams and found that the more optimistic teams created more positive synergy and performed better than the Pessimists. Another study showed that pessimists who were led to believe they had done worse than they had were prone to future poor performance while the Optimistic ones didn’t have this vulnerability.
3.Persistence
It is of a great knowing that Optimists don’t give up as easily over pessimists, and they are more likely to achieve success because of This Approach.
4.Emotional Health
It would be great to know that the optimists developing a positive thinking over a worse failure helps to to get bright and shiny outcomes in future. Persons who had optimism had the ability to more effectively handle future setbacks over the pessimists.
5.Less Stress
Optimists may also tend to experience less stress than pessimists. Because they have belief and expect good things to happen Througout their life. They see negative events as minor setbacks to be easily overcome and view positive events as evidence for good happenings to come in future.
